Murvel Lightfoot, 1121 South street, today an nounced the approaching mar riage of their daughter, Jeanine to Jerry Dean Duffey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Duffey, 222 North 10th street. The wedding will take place July 29 at the First Baptist church at 6:30 o'clock with Rev. Lindsay officiating.

Miss Lightfoot graduated with the 1960 class of Willkie high school and attended the Holy Cross Central School of Nursing. Mr. Duffey graduated from Willkie high school in 1960 and is currently serving with the Aviation Branch of the Navy. He is stationed at Patuxent River, Maryland. The couple will make their home near the Navy base following the wedding.

All relatives and friends of the couple are invited to attend. Birthday Dinner Is 'Held At Yates Home Mrs. Earl Yates entertained Sunday evening at a dinner in observance of the birthday anni versary of Eddie Phillips. A birthday cake centered the table. Participate In Demonstration 4-H'ers in Madison County par ticipated in a General Demonstra-1 tion and Public Speaking Contest at the Pendleton High School, June 27, 1961, according to Mrs. Judith Hanson, home agent.

General Demonstrations are those which do not fit into the following categories: Meat Pro ducts, Fruits and Vegetables, and Pastry, Dairy Foods, Clothing, Home Furnishings, Electric, and Crafts. Demonstrations that do fall into those categories are known as Special Demonstrations. Susan Alexander of Highland was the county winner and she will now enter the district contest. The district contest is to be held a July 14, 1961 at the Madison Heights High School. Junior Demonstrations were also given.

Janet Myerly of Frankton and Linda Day, also of Frankton, tied for first place. Merry Workers 4-H club Place to announced. County fair to be discussed. Elwood Hobby club -Mrs. Anna Lee at 1:30 o'clock.

WELLS Miss Georgia Ellen Welcher, George Welcher, route 3 Elwood, Joseph Wells, son of Mr. and ria, Thursday evening, June mony held at the First Baptist pastor of the church, officiated at 7:30 o'clock. Two beauty baskets of pink flanked by two seven branched church. Directly in the center Miss Jo Ann at the organ played "Romance:" by Rubenstein; "To Rose" McDowell and "Reverie" by Tyshkosky. For the entrance of the bride, she played the traditional wedding mach.

Lighting the candles before the ceremony were Marsha and Sharon 1 Wells, sisters of the bride groom. The Bride Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a white street length dress of lace. The skirt was styled with tiers of scalloped lace and. the fitted bodice featured a square scalloped neckline and had elbow length sleeves. Her veil of silk illusion fell from a seed pearl tiara.

She carried an orchid and white mums atop a white Bible. Mrs. David L. Miller, matron of honor and the bride's only atten dant wore a flowered chiffon sheath dress designed with a scooped neckline. Her accessories were in matching color.

She carric pink carnations centered with a gardenia. Steve Fulk of Alexandria was the best man. Mrs. Welcher, mother of the bride was attired in a pink cotton dress with accessories and had a corsage of pink sweetheart roses. Mrs.

Wells, mother of the bridegroom wore a black and white cotton dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink sweetheart roses. Reception After the ceremony, a reception was held in the home of the bride's parents. -A white three tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bridal couple and wedding bells set in tulle centered the bride's table Table was set in crystal. Serving the guests were aunts of the bride, Miss Freda Stewart and Mrs. Ronald Chriss.

The couple left following on a wedding trip to the Straits of Macinac, Mich. The bride changed to a black and white cotton frock and wore the orchid taken from her bridal bouquet for Mrs. Wells is a graduate of Willkie high school and attended Ball State Teachers college and Indiana Business college. She is a member of First Baptist church and of Tri Kappa sorority. Mr.

Wells graduated from Alexandria high school and attended the Indiana Business college and the A.M.F. Training school. in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a member of the Epworth Methodist church in Alexandria and is employed at the Wells Bowling lanes. Mr.

The tiered wedding cake was encircled with greenery and daisies and topped with yellow roses. The couple left after the reception on wedding trip. The bride's going away ensemble was a beige linen sheath with beige and white accessories and wore a white orchid. After the trip, the couple will be at home at the Southcrest Trailer Court, Fort Wayne, Mrs. Foland was graduated from Madison Heights high school in 1957 and graduated this year from Purdue university where she majored in elementary education.

She will teach this fall in the Rich mond public schools. Mr. Foland was graduated from Madison Heights high school also 1957 and graduated in June from Ball State Teachers col lege, Muncie where he majored in Business. He is on a six weeks training program for General Telephone in Fort Wayne after which he will work in Sales for the company in Richmond. Mr.

Foland is. a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. George Schmidt of ,1923 South A street. Sunday, Mr.

and Mrs. Foland entertained at a dinner in their honor. Other 4-H club members as well as Home Demonstration club mem bers of Tipton county are invited to attend the Charm School to be held Friday July 7 at the 4-H communi building. Miss Helen Hollingsworth, Mrs. Ione Smith and Mrs.

Hortense Wetzel of the L.S. Ayres and pany Indianapolis will conduct the school. Theme for the 4-H club mem bers will be "'What's Your Definition of Charm'. Time for the 4-H club school will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

They will be given such points of how to introduce a friend, use of the telephone, use of the family bathroom, conversation, how to order from a menu, diet, posture, rest, when your date arrives and what to wear, when and how. Points for the Home Demonstration club members will include if you are the program chairman, it you are the hostess, if you are the shopper, 1 if you are the community service worker, if you are the cook and if you are the traveler. Mrs. Ione Smith of the Fashion Bureau will give a demonstration on "How To Accesorize, Your The school for the WOmen will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 o'clock. The program is free and open MRS.

She carried a white Bible topped with an orchid and ivy and tied with pink and white ribbons. Her only jewelry was pearl pendant and earrings. Mrs.

Jerry Smith, matron of honor and the bride's only atten dant wore a dress of pink chiffon over taffeta designed with a scooped neckline. On her hair, she wore a pink chiffon bow with tulle. She carried a basket of pink and white mums with ivy. Ed Hansen, brother of the bridegroom was best man and seating the guests were Jerry Smith of Elwood and Wayne Fisher of Winchester. The men wore dark suits.

The bride's mother, Mrs. Caldwell, wore a blue organza over printed taffeta dress with white accessories and had a white or chid corsage. Mrs. Hansen, mother of the bridegroom wore a lavender linen dress with accessories in white and had a laven der orchid. Reception A reception followed the cerein the Fellowship room of mony church.

The table was centerd with a three tiered wedding cake de corated in pink and white topped with a miniature bridal couple. The table had a long silver flounce and was adorned with bellls and roses. The table was set with crystal and silver. The gift table was covered with a linen cloth and decorated with arrangements of water lilies and a Memory candle. The couple left later on a wedding trip to the Smoky Mountains.

They will reside at 47 Wilmin Drive, Marion when they return. The bride changed to a willow green suit with white accessories and wore the orchid taken from her bridal bouquet for travel ling. Mrs. Hansen is a graduate of Willkie high school and is a member of the First Methodist church. She has been employed in the bookkeeping department of First National bank.

Bridesmaids, Mrs. David Bales, the Lawton, bride, Miss sister Kathy in Foland of Anderson a sister of the bride groom and Miss Janice Thompson of Kokomo wore identical yellow dotted Swiss and taffeta with lace picture hats and gloves. They carried cresent bouquets of white daisies, Robert Foland of Anderson, served his brother as best man and seating the guests were David Bales, Lawton, Okla, brother of the bride, John Weber, John Barnard, Hancock and Frederick Brown.
