He was arrested in connection with the theft of a gold watch, a knife, and I compact disc player and compact discs from a vehicle. A two-car accident was reported at 8:25 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection North Anderson and North streets. The drivers were David W.

Molden, 27, Indianapolis, and Tricia A. Wylie, 17, 1529 Oakland Ct. No injuries were reported. The theft of a strand of Christmas lights from a front yard was reported at 7:22 p.m. Tuesday by a resident of -the 900 block of North 11th Street.

An attempted burglary was reported at 5:22 p.m. Tuesday by a resident of the 1600 block of South Street. Someone tried to pry open a door. The theft of four centers from rally wheels on a 1991 Ford Mustang was reported at 3:49 p.m. Tuesday by Heiser Ford, 1500 N.

St. The theft of a red 1988 Mercury Cougar was reported at 11:49 a.m. Tuesday by a resident of the 1400 block of South Street. The owner of the car said he started the car and went back inside his house. He looked out and saw a white male looking inside the car.

The white male then got inside the car and drove away. The car thief is described as about 18 years, black wavy hair and wearing a black leather jacket. ELWOOD FIRE DEPARTMENT Al Bannister, 52, Rt. 3, Elwood, was transported to Mercy Hospital at 5:12 p.m. Tuesday.

FRANKTON POLICE Curtis R. Gentry, 20, Frankton, was arrested at 11:25 p.m. Dec. 12 for illegal possession of alcohol, driving left of center and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Daniel J.

Baker, 28, Rt. 4, Box 285, Obituaries JUDY KARCH Louvenia (Judy) Karch, 81, formerly of 2100 N. died Monday at Parkview Convalescent Centre. She was born. July 20, 1910 in Kentucky.

Her husband, John F. Karch, died February 16, 1985. Surviving are a -niece, Barbara Reddicks of Louisville, a sister-in-law, Frances Ball of Elwood, and a friend, Charlene Connors of Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Dunnichay Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Remick officiating.

Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Windfall. Friends may call at the funeral home for one hour prior to services. ROSCOE (BUTCH) GLICK Roscoe A. (Butch) 51, 1912 N. A died Tuesday at Mercy Hospital.

He was a former resident of Columbia City and Huntington. He was born March 9, 1940 in Whitley County, the son of Roscoe A. and Evelyn G. Fairchild Glick. He had lived most recently in Huntington, moving to Elwood in live with his stepdaughter.

He was a farmer and foreman at Economy Machine in Roanoke. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses. A companion, Betty Allen, died in 1981.

Surviving are a son, Roscoe A. Glick Jr. and daughter, Elizabeth Glick, both at home; a stepson, Charlie Beeman of Elwood and two "stepdaughters, Bobbie McCool of Elwood and Debbie McClish of six stepgrandchildren; two brothers, Michael L. Glick of Roanoke and Alfred D. Glick of Fort Wayne; four sisters, Carolyn R.

Hart of Fort Wayne, Phyllis Phillips of Huntington, Betty Davis of Lawrenceburg, Tenn. and Margaret Jones of Youngstown, Ohio. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Hollingsworth Memorial Chapel in Columbia City with Richard Kuckuck officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Chapel Cemetery in Whitley County.

12th died today at his home. He was born July 17, 1917 in Elwood, the son of Ralph. Records Hartsock and Carrie Bell Pine Hartsock. He married Ruth McMinn on September 17, 1939. She survives.

He retired from Delco Remy in 1980, was a member of the Main Street Wesleyan Church and belonged to the National Guard for 14 years. Other survivors include four sons, Kenneth Hartsock of Carmel, Robert Hartsock of Guam, William Hartsock of Elwood and Thomas Hartsock; three daughters, Rebecca Alvey and Patricia Paschall, both of Elwood, and Nancy Alvey of Atlanta; two brothers, Walter Hartsock of Pendleton and Robert 'Hartsock of Indianapolis; three sisters, Bessie Cox of Indianapolis, Doris Fisher and Malinda Earl, both of Battle Creek, 18 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Oh, those old-time photos of school children, the teacher is always identified as Miss or Mrs. No first name. In a recent photo of Central School children the teacher was identified only as Miss Miller. Who's that? Many might wonder. Thanks to one of our readers, the teacher was Miss Jean Miller, daughter of the Rev.

V. Hayes Miller, longtime pastor of the East Main Street Christian Church. Her married name is McMahan and she resides in Alexandria. Alexandria, was cited at 1 p.m. Dec.

14 for speeding 62 in a 30-mph zone. MADISON COUNTY POLICE A resident of rural Alexandria reported that on Dec. 13, at 6:40 p.m., a resident of the 600 block of Alexandria told him that she had just hit a Great Dane with her car. Extensive front end damage was done to the vehicle. The dog was found in a ditch approximately 30' west of the point of impact.

The dog died soon after. A resident of the 400 block of South Clinton Summitville, reported on Dec. 14 at 10:54 p.m. that she had a blow on the front passenger side of her car, that forced her to drive off the road and into a mailbox of a rural Summitville home. Bright lights were a complaint by a rural Elwood resident, north of Ind.

28 on East Jackley Rd. on Dec. 15 at 9:32 p.m. His neighbor had installed outside lights that shone into his bedroom windows. Heights High School.

21, 1921, near Arcadia, she was the daughter of John L. and Lulu Mae Hays Mundell. She was a. graduate of Arcadia High School Class of 1939. She first had worked for Bell Telephone Co.

in Lafayette and for U.S. Fidelity and Guarantee Co. in Indianapolis for 20 years before retiring. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Arcadia, the Salhoma Extension Homemakers Club, and the Tipton Christian Sisterhood and Brotherhood and the Boxley Christian Sisterhood and Brotherhood. Surviving are one daughter, Janice Fulton of Anderson; one brother, John C.

Mundell of Longwood, two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Trinity United Methodist Church. in Arcadia with the Rev. David Low officiating, assisted by the Rev.

12, 1924, in Clay County, he was the son of Thomas and Lampie Brown Sullivan. He retired from Steel Parts in Tipton, where he was employed as factory worker for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ and the Windfall Masonic Lodge. Surviving are a friend and companion Marie Ferrell of Livingston; A resident of house mile north of Co. Rd.

1100N, on the eastside of Co. Rd. 550W, reported on Dec. 10, at 5:32 p.m., that an 18' blue spruce was cut down on his property. The top had been cut off, probably to be used as a Christmas tree.

A resident of the 800 block of W. Broadway, Alexandria reported on Dec. 15 at 5:17 p.m. that three deer stands he had in his yard, chained and padlocked to a tree had been taken. CORRECTION In Tuesday's daily report there was information regarding the arrest of three juveniles on drug charges.

The report stated that police had notified officials at the Elwood Middle School of a possible drug violation and that school officials had followed up on the report. That was not correct. School officials made the initial report to police. LESLIE MAY Leslie May, 92, of Cocoa Beach, died Tuesday. He was born in Alexandria and moved to Florida in 1950. He was an attorney. Surviving are a stepson, Bill Berry of Cocoa Beach and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arrangements were handled by the Steverson Funeral Home in Tavares, Fla.

PALMER HASTY Palmer G. Hasty, 76, Fort Pierce, died Sunday at his residence. He was born July 6, 1915 in Grant County and retired from farming in 1963. He owned Hasty Implement, Standard Service Station, Hasty Mobile Home Park and Outpost Restaurant, all in Fairmount, and North Webste Marina. He retired in 1973 and moved to Florida in 1977.

Survivors include his wife, Lora Hasty; two sons, Van. Hasty and Arlen Hasty, both of Fairmount; a brother, Thomas W. Hasty of Fairmount; nine grandchildren; and two great-gr children. Services will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Hunt Funeral Home in Fairmount with Xen Harvey officiating.

One of our readers told us he read every word of Ray Striker's detailed history of the Elwood Lawn Mower Factory. A lady called to tell us she enjoyed the photo of the recent Central School kids. She said she knew many of the children. Another Over 50 reader said she particularly likes the columns about how things were back in Elwood's history. We appreciate these comments.

People Speak To the Editor: The 22 veterans' children from Knightstown Home were thrilled at the party held for them here in Elwood last Saturday. Taxpayer Association Dear Editor: When I sat down to first write this letter I was mad and angry and wanted to really write how I bad it was to have our Christmas outside lights stolen from in front of our home.
